Definitely.
As for the female duck being able to probably care for a young chick after it hatches, I don’t know. Probably not.
eeehhhhh I’d be very carefull about using ducks to hatch chickens! Results can range from ‘not too good’ to ‘oh god she ate the baby and left the head why’
