tHATS WAY TOO CLOSE DUCK

(Top two were taken yesterday, bottom two a week ago)

it’s pouring with rain and getting dark and I’m going to have to go back outside in a minute and try to herd my duck back into her pen yaaaaaaay

and then I go looking back through my tumblr pages and I see my duck sitting on her egg

ad I get all sad again because she ate the chick and I was so excited the night before for a new baby ):

I can hear the egg cheeping under the duck! Eeeee so excited <333 I hope its hatched by the time I wake up tommorow!

More to the point, I hope the duck doesn’t realise she’s hatched out a chicken and attack it or something :V I also hope something doesn’t go wrong! The bantams have some tough shells on their eggs, I hope it doesn’t impede the chick.

Hey have any of you guys had ducks raise baby chickens? How did it work out? Our ducks sitting on a chicken egg now and I want to know if she’s going to end up eating it when it hatches or something :V
